This vessel was created in response to the word corrupt, interpreted through the lens of natural decay. I was drawn to the image of a rotting tree stump — once strong and alive, now slowly disintegrating beneath the weight of time. Yet even in its decline, life continues. Vibrant fungi sprout from its surface, feeding off its collapse, both nurturing and consuming it.
This duality became the heart of the piece: a reflection on toxic relationships that masquerade as nurturing ones — where beauty and destruction exist side by side. Corrupt by Nature explores how decay is not always violent or sudden, but quiet, inevitable, and often disguised as growth.
